Thursday night’s show with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead was a total scorcher in New Haven, Connecticut. With guest appearances from Antibalas‘ instrumentalist Stuart Bogie throughout the night, sitting in on saxophone, bass harmonica, flute, and clarinet, the sounds coming from the room were more captivating than ever!

Soaring through elemental staples like “China Cat Sunflower,” “St. Stephen,” and “Eyes of the World,” the group kept it interesting with several teases throughout the night, including nods to Miles Davis, The Doors, and more. One of the night’s many highlights included a rare “Black Throated Wind” with “Son of a Preacher Man” teases.
