For the 83rd edition of RAD Tracks Thursday, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead has released something special for us fans. This newest release comes straight out of their New Year’s run at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. Falling squarely on the day before New Years, this twenty-five-minute segment from their show on 12/30/2016 featuring a giant “Viola Lee Blues” sandwich is a treat for the eyes and ears.

The first song, “Viola Lee Blues,” features Cochemea Gastelum of The Dap Kings on baritone sax, before the band jams into “Uncle John’s Band.” Then, the band drops into Benevento/Russo Duo favorite “Becky” during which the band, save Marco and Joe, more or less drops out to let the two musical masterminds do their thing. After that awesome surprise, the band works back through “Uncle John’s Band” before closing it back out with the reprise of “Viola Lee Blues.” Words do not do this epic sandwich justice, so give it a listen for yourself below, courtesy of the band.

You can check out the full setlist from the show below, as well as listen to the full audio from the show here.
