Freshly reunited, Phish had some fun touring the country throughout the year of 2009. The band rocked an extensive fall tour, which included a return to Philadelphia for the first time since 2003. Hitting the Wachovia Center on November 24th, the band let loose with a show opening “Chalk Dust Torture” and kept things going with a very fun performance.

During the first set, Phish took a fan request from a sign and launched into Talking Heads‘ “Cities”. With the show just two days before Thanksgiving, Trey Anastasio had some fun with the song’s lyrics, “Do I smell… I smell home cooking… it’s only the river… it’s only Thanksgiving.”

Cities was played in response to a fan with a sign requesting the song and featured alternative lyrics referencing Thanksgiving. Reba did not have the whistling ending. Disease was unfinished. Much of Weekapaug was played at a significantly slower pace than normal. Prior to ADITL, Fish teased the Weekapaug drumbeat.
