Last weekend, Phish wrapped up their main summer tour with a scorching performance at the Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, CA. The Vermont jam band showed the locals some “California Love,” bringing out some serious funk in the first set and keeping the jams flowing during the second.

Interestingly enough, two of the show’s biggest highlights came consecutively in the first set. After winding down “Reba” with an unexpected “Ass Handed” ending, the band broke into their funky song “Tube.” This was no ordinary “Tube,” however, as the version took hold and erupted into a roughly ten minute jam session. Easily one of the best versions of the song in the 3.0 era, the band kept the jams coming with a lengthy “Wolfman’s Brother.” Again, this was no ordinary “Wolfman’s,” as Trey Anastasio worked in quotes and lyrics from the famed Tupac song “California Love.”

Thanks to YouTube user Tom Rowles, we can rewatch these two great jams! Check it out below.
