Phish drummer Jon Fishman recently announced a string of New England tour dates with his longtime collaborators, playing as the bluegrass quartet Masefield, Perkins, Fishman & Bolles. With the final show coming tonight, we wanted to check in and see the Phish musician in a new setting.

The string quartet features Jamie Masefield (mandolin), Doug Perkins (guitar), Tyler Bolles (bass), and, of course, Jon Fishman on the drums. The musicians are all Vermont-based, and have released a handful of live tracks through their Bandcamp page for your listening pleasure.

Last night, the group hit the new 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, NH and let loose for a great night of music. Check out some of the magic, as captured by YouTube user Doug MacNair, below:

Masefield, Perkins, Fishman & Bolles conclude their four-night run with a performance tonight, February 6th, at Club Metronome in Burlington, VT.

**For those who want to get down with more of the instrumental side of Phish, don’t miss Jazz Is Phish on February 18th at The Hall At MP (Brooklyn, NY). The ensemble features members of Sun Ra, Snarky Puppy, Trey Anastasio Band, TV On The Radio, RAQ, Victor Wooten Band, and more, and their unique interpretations of Phish music is always a good time.
