The Wood Brothers’ 2015 release Paradise was an unforgettable step forward for this talented band. Among the many great songs on the album was “Never And Always,” which surprisingly included the talents of Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks (listen to the album version here). Their musical additions were subtle and sweet, yet intensely definitive of the studio track.

Interestingly, the song wasn’t written for guest appearances. “‘Never and Always’ started out as a way to recapture our original Wood Brothers sound — upright bass and National steel guitar. We got spoiled in the studio and added Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi. This is our stripped-down acoustic version, shot and recorded at the Oak Room at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery,” Oliver Wood tells The Bluegrass Situation
