Widespread Panic wrapped up an incredible three-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre yesterday, playing their 51st consecutive sell-out show at the historic Morrison, CO venue with a passion. The show featured some great music from the Southern jammers, who played a unique Sunday matinee for their fans.

The show started with a wailing “The Take Out,” before the band broke into blues classics like “Blackout Blues” and a cover of the blues standard “Good Morning Little School Girl.” More great tunes were imminent, as the set raged with classics like “Who Do You Belong To?” and a set-closing “You Should Be Glad.”

WSP brought the heat in the second set by opening with their funky “Disco” tune, and covered a pair of The Band classics, “Ophelia” and “The Shape I’m In.” The set continued a bust out of “Time Zones,” not played since 2014 (144 shows), and the first time played for “Time Is Free” at Red Rocks. The latter, an original by Col. Bruce Hampton, segued into the great Traffic song “Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys,” which in turn segued into “Love Tractor.”

The show was far from over, as a three song encore filled the Colorado venue with pride. “Hallelujah!” started things off, before a “Postcard > Porch Song” finale finished the show on a strong note.
