We knew JoJo Hermann was a keyboardist, singer, and songwriter, but come this Friday, he’ll add one more credit to his resume: baseball pitcher. Well, throwing the first pitch doesn’t quite qualify him as a professional athlete, but it’s still an awesome accomplishment nonetheless.

The Widespread Panic musician will take the mound in Chicago, as the Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks next Friday, September 4th at Wrigley Field. With a gametime scheduled for 1:20 PM Central, be sure to tune in early to see Hermann in the pre-game festivities.

Widespread Panic Premieres ‘Steven’s Cat’, First Single From New Album

This 2015 season has been loaded with baseball/jam band crossovers, as the Cubs recently hosted five of the six members of Umphrey’s McGee for first pitch/national anthem/7th inning stretch duties. Not to mention that the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart and NBA Deadhead extraordinaire Bill Walton came out to “Grateful Dead” day in San Francisco last month, and several other teams have Grateful Dead Nights on their calendar, including the Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds.

We’ll be sure to update and let you know how Hermann does!

Chicago Cubs fans: Jojo will be throwing out the first pitch at this Friday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks! Game time 1:20pm CDT.
