For the second year in a row, Oregon State University is offering an online college course in the Philosophy of Phish. The class will be taught by Dr. Stephanie Jenkins and is open to the public.

According to phish.net, “The class merges the experience of Phish’s live performances with the study of theories about art, aesthetic judgment, community, and more. It is designed as a philosophy of music class, and will incorporate live Phish performances as case studies. Along with readings from philosophers such as Kant, Tolstoy, and Nietzsche, students will be required to attend concerts during the band’s 2015 summer tour in person or via webcast and analyze their experience in written assignments.”
