The Motet previously announced a ‘Mixtape 1975’ themed concert in New Orleans during Jazzfest, and now that show has some stellar support Zigaboo Modeliste’s Funk Revue. Modeliste is the longtime drummer for the funk forefathers, The Meters, and both bands will hit the Howlin’ Wolf on May 3rd.

The Motet unveiled their ‘Mixtape 1975’ theme for Halloween last year, playing a number of awesome covers throughout the night. Some highlights from the setlist: “Have A Cigar” by Pink Floyd, “Kashmir” by Led Zeppelin, “Low Rider” by War, “Fame” by David Bowie, and more. We’re hoping that there’s some collaboration on “Fire on the Bayou,” the classic Meters song released in 1975, and performed by The Motet.
