ACOUSTIC ARTIST CHRISTINA RUBINO RELEASES ‘ALIVE FROM THE SCRAPHEAP’

Rising from Brooklyn is an acoustic artist named Christina Rubino. This young lady is set to release her new album ‘Alive From the Scrapheap’ on March 1st. For those who are fans of Cat Power, Johnny Cash and Shelby Lynn – we promise you are in for a treat with this talented artist.

Rubino’s story is one of an artist “who got lost trying to find herself and only found herself when she was lost”, a recent press release describes the musician. The talented artist touches on serious subjects including addiction, loss and finding hope – all with portraying it through her music in an honest and captivating way.

Rubino started creating her new music when she was a teenager. She bought herself a classical acoustic guitar and learned to play. She played in groups as both a vocalist and guitarist. About a year into her career, Rubino took a break from her music to seek assistance for her alcohol abuse and to take care of herself. Upon returning, the young artist had much to write about in regards to overcoming personal battles. She recorded a 5 song EP, and then decided to continue on to create her full length album ‘Alive From the Scrapheap’.

Listening to Rubino’s music is similar to listening to deep and heavy poetry. Her lyrics are filled with emotion and soul, which really captivate the audience to bring emotion out of the listeners as well. Christina said, “I swore most of these songs would never see the light of day. They were too personal, too embarrassing. It was difficult to even play them in front of my producer. It was only the constant nagging from my conscience and the unrelenting feeling that I must do this which led me to the decision to continue recording after Francine left. She was very pivotal to my journey with this album – had she not pushed me to start playing again and begged me to track some of those songs, they undoubtedly would still be in a drawer somewhere hidden.”
