Tom Hamilton’s American Babies have been touring relentlessly this fall, highlighting their schedule with several themed “Masquerade Ball” performances in major cities. Last weekend was no exception, as Hamilton and co. hosted a Masquerade Ball at American Beauty in New York, NY, treating fans to a new take on the David Bowie album, Blackstar.
The Babies’ rendition of Blackstar was an emotional one, as the album was released just days before Bowie passed away at the outset of 2016. With support from Hayley Jane & The Primates opening the show, and flautist Paul Vercesi, saxophonist Luke Penella and vocalist Lauren Apichell supporting American Babies, this was a great performance paying tribute to a legend.
