Devon Parker shares her experiences singing lead with Analog Son at their sold-out album release party show last weekend at the Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO.  The band, which was joined by contributors Jason Hann of String Cheese Incident and Nigel Hall from The Nth Power, delivered an evening of massively funky music. Parker can be seen in the gallery of pictures below.

It’s difficult to put to words the thrilling excitement of playing a sold out show in your home town. A couple of years ago, Analog Son invited me to sing Funk music with them for the first time. We opened for many great and talented Funk bands such as The Funky Meters and Trombone Shorty. Those shows, as memorable as they were, didn’t compare to the amazing experience of headlining at the Bluebird, surrounded and supported by all of our friends and family.

It’s something we all strive for as musicians and artists, to be well received and appreciated for all of the hard work and energy we put into our craft. We brought in some friends who recorded on the album with us, to truly give the recreation of the album, for its release.

The talented Jason Hann from String Cheese Incident and Nigel Hall from Nth Power and Lettuce, lent their creative gifts to our big night. It was truly a treat to share the stage with such amazing musicians! Jordan Linit and Josh Fairman (the founders of the band) have written some seriously funky, well arranged songs, and during the recording process they brought in 25 different musicians to collaborate.

I’m so proud to be a part of a project both innovative and groovy, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future as I take this journey with Analog Son. Lights, Cameras, Horn section, Backup Singers…and of course that sequined dress, it was a show I will never forget!
