Welcome back Sleater-Kinney! Reunited after eight years, the band proved to be in proper form, playing an awesome show at the packed Tabernacle in Atlanta last night, April 21st.

Loyal fans were treated to a comprehensive, aggressive performance boasting material from all of their classic albums, Dig Me Out (1997), Hot Rock (1999), All Hands on the Bad One (2000), One Beat (2002), The Woods (2005), and their most recent album, No Cities to Love (2015). The hiatus couldn’t seem more distant, because this band’s chemistry and energy was that built over time—they haven’t skipped a beat.

Members Corin Tucker (Guitarist/vocalist), Carrie Brownstein (guitarist/vocalist), and Janet Weiss (drums) surely showed Atlanta the love by playing a 90 minute set, kicking, stomping around on stage as if they owned the place, and they did. These killer chicks took control of the audience immediately and didn’t release until the last note drifted into the mild April night. Phenomenal talent exploding from within was contagious, touching all members of the crowd, as punchy-driven guitar riffs fueled the head banging from indie-punk enthusiasts.
