There may not be a hotter DJ in the world than Kygo at the moment. The Norwegian DJ kept adding more New York dates to his current ‘Endless Summer’ tour, finally settling with four sold out shows over three days. The most highly anticipated was the Saturday day time party atop Output’s roof, which acted as a perfect setting for Kygo’s brand of light hearted tropical house music, which feels like it would be more at home by a beach or a pool than in a nightclub.

You couldn’t ask for a more perfect day in late September, with the sun out in full force and clear skies opening up a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline. Output’s roof has several levels, each practically overflowing with people moving and shaking in every direction. The bottom floor, which housed the DJs, contained an all out dance party, while the beds on the upper levels allowed for a more relaxed experience.

Up and coming Australian producer Thomas Jack, who has received his own fair share of buzz over the past few months, performed an excellent extended set in support, before Kygo finally took the decks around 7:30. Known for a slew of huge remixes of artists like Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd, along with modern reworkings of tracks like ‘Sexual Healing’ by Marvin Gaye and Blackstreet’s ‘No Diggity’, Kygo ripped through all of his most popular tracks, providing a beautiful soundtrack to the sunset.

Kygo may be the ultimate sunny day chill out music, and Output’s roof provided the perfect setting for a day of tropical house. If this weekend in New York is an indication, Kygo is primed for a huge 2015, and this special show was a perfect end to the summer music season.
