Every once in a while, Live For Live Music likes to check up on what’s going in on Sin City in our new feature, ‘What Happens In Vegas’. Last week, we spent nearly 24 hours inside the confines of Marquee Las Vegas, waking up and heading straight to the pool, returning to the room for a shower and a bite to eat, and then heading right back down for the nightclub. With all the crazy attractions, concerts, and clubs in Vegas, what could possibly confine someone to one, single, space all day? The best talent on the strip – Armin Van Buuren took over the pool party during the day, while Kaskade ran the nightclub.

While it’s not even Memorial Day yet, the Las Vegas pool parties are out in full effect, and dozens of people flocked to the pool to splash along and dance in the water while Armin spun yet another top notch set. The VIP cabanas were packed with bottle poppers while people crowded together to get as close to the world’s #1 DJ as possible. Armin delivered, of course, bringing in a stellar set that never slowed down for the pool party crowd. His latest single, ‘This Is What It Feels Like’, got a king’s welcome, and as the day progressed we delved deeper into Armin’s catalogue of tracks like ‘We Are Here To Make Some Noise’ and ‘Not Giving Up On Love’.

Catching Armin during the day would take a lot out of anyone, but there was no time for rest as Kaskade was gearing up to take over Marquee’s night club. At night, the pool area remains open, but the real party is inside the adjacent room which is decked out with screens, LEDs, and tons of dancers. Tables and bottle service rule the land here, and if you really want to feel like you’re doing it right, you should splurge on a table. Everyone else is constantly pushed towards the back, making clear pathways for VIPs to move around. The screens at the Day Club still remain on, and you can lay on an empty bed and take in the music, which is still pumping, if you need some down time. However, judging by the crowd, most people weren’t looking for much downtime.

Marquee Las Vegas is one of the premiere spots for EDM in Las Vegas, and will continue to be as long as it has a constant flow of top level talent. Beyond Armin and Kaskade, Marquee has guys like Gareth Emery, Cosmic Gate, Chuckie, and Sander Van Doorn coming through the doors in the coming weeks. It’s really a  non stop party. Two big events a day. You could spend almost 24 hours in Marquee – I did.
