Things got funky at Brooklyn Bowl with Turkuaz in the house this past Thursday. The 8-piece funk powerhouse put on a raging performance that had everyone movin’ and groovin’ to the sounds of smooth sax and uplifting vocals. The band weaved in and out of covers and their original tunes with an infectious beat, positive energy and funky vibe.

Check out our review of Turkuaz’s latest album, Future 86!

Things started off properly with an older one, “Chatte Lunatique,” before showcasing many other originals such as “Lookin’ Tough Feelin’ Good,” “The Mountain,” “Coast to Coast,” “Getting Closer” and the classic “Monkey Fingers.” Other highlights from the passionate performance include a stacked roster of covers including “Hold On, I’m Coming,” “The Shape I’m In” (The Band) and “I’ve Got A Feeling” (Beatles). An epic encore of the Talking Heads’ “Take Me To The River” closed out the night on a high note with everyone going wild and happily singing along.

Attendees were also treated to an exclusive video premiere of their latest single – check it out!

If you haven’t had the opportunity to catch a Turkuaz performance yet, what are you waiting for?! See them perform a Sly and the Family Stone tribute set at Catskill Chill this weekend!
