The beloved all-day music marathon is back for its fifth edition, and this year it’s moving to the beautiful outdoor venue, The Brooklyn Mirage, on Sunday, September 26th. Inspired by the vibrant musical communities of Brooklyn and New Orleans, Brooklyn Comes Alive brings together artists from across the jam, funk, and jazz communities, with an emphasis on collaboration, improvisation, and special one-off performances.

This year’s lineup will feature a massive two-set headlining performance from trance-fusion jam titans, The Disco Biscuits. Denver-based funk heroes, The Motet, will perform a guest-laden set with help from Jeremy Schon (Pigeons Playing Ping Pong), Shira Elias (Turkuaz), and Eric “Benny” Bloom (Lettuce). Joe Russo (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, The Benevento/Russo Duo), John Medeski (Medeski, Martin & Wood), and Dave Harrington (Darkside, Dave Harrington’s Merry Pranksters) will come together for a first-time-ever performance as a trio for a must-see Brooklyn Comes Alive exclusive. Break Science Live Band will be on hand with a fresh lineup, as the live electronic pioneers Adam Deitch & Borahm Lee will be joined by turntable master Chris Karns (Pretty Lights), guitarist Hunter Roberts, and versatile trumpet player Maurice “Mobetta” Brown (The Free Nationals). The lineup is rounded out by the rising indie jam star, Karina Rykman, a New York City local and Brooklyn Comes Alive veteran who has exploded onto the scene with her high-energy live show. Music will kick off at 2:00 pm, with performances that will continue until midnight.
