Fu*k 2016: A Tribute To Musicians We Lost @ Howlin’ Wolf

2016 was one of the most upsetting years on record, as we lost so many amazing artists over the course of twelve months. Of course, New Orleans is the perfect place to pay tribute to these artists, and Jazz Fest is the perfect time. Dubbed Funk 2016: A Tribute To Musicians We Lost, the tribute will explore the musical gifts all of the amazing artists we lost last year, such as Prince, David Bowie, George Michael, Maurice White, Phife Dawg, and more. While we’re glad the year is over, it’s time to look back and celebrate these wonderful artists.

To pay tribute to these amazing musical icons, we’re bringing together Michaelangelo Carubba, Shira Elias, and Craig Brodhead from Turkuaz, and Joey Porter, Garrett Sayers, and Lyle Divinsky of The Motet for an all-star tribute known as Funk 2016! Additional special guests for the evening include Khris Royal, Maurice “Mobetta” Brown, Steveland Swatkins, D.J. Williams & Danny Mayer.
