On July 22nd and July 23rd, the UIC’s Harrison Field at the corner of Harrison & Halsted will transform from a college athletics field into a large-scale two-day music festival featuring some of America’s greatest genre-defying bands, with a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline as the backdrop. The Saturday lineup (7/22) will begin at 3:30 and include performances from The Lil Smokies, Hard Working Americans, Shovels & Rope, and Houndmouth. Sunday’s (7/23) talented artist lineup will begin promptly at 2:00pm and feature sets from jam-grass up-and-comers, longtime vets, and modern-day masters, including Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Joshua Davis Trio, Dr. Dog, and Greensky Bluegrass (who will deliver a full two-set headlining performance).
The new event is a collaborative effort by windy city brewery Goose Island Beer Company and “Chicago’s Finest Rock” station WXRT as well as promoters Silver Wrapper and Madison House Presents.
