Last night marked the opening of Summer Camp Music Festival, and fans eagerly flocked to see one of the most exciting bluegrass groups in the business right now: Greensky Bluegrass. Ever aware of their origins, Greensky Bluegrass and the whole “jam grass” genre would not have existed were it not for the work of legendary John Hartford. With that in mind, Greensky broke out in one of Hartford’s classic tunes during their set, the staple “Steam Powered Aeroplane.”

From there, the group segued into their If Sorrows Swim classic tune, “Windshield.” The two songs came smack in the middle of a set that saw Greensky bring out a number of their classic tunes, and even welcome out keyboardist Joel Cummins at the end.

Fortunately, our own Rex Thomson was filming the first half ot the set, and captured the amazing “Steam Powered Aeroplane > Windshield” segment of the show. Tune in below.
