Last year, legendary singer/songwriter Neil Young famously lambasted popular streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music for their poor audio quality. Young instead sided with TIDAL at the time, and even launched his own PONO Player in an appeal to audiophiles everywhere.

“I don’t need my music to be devalued by the worst quality in the history of broadcasting or any other form of distribution,” he said at the time. “I don’t feel right allowing this to be sold to my fans. It’s bad for my music.”

Thus, it was quite unexpected when Young’s fans browsed through Spotify and Apple Music, only to find that his entire catalog has been restored on the streaming platforms. As of now, Young has neglected to comment on the situation, only raising more speculation as to why he changed his mind.

Fortunately, we have better things to do than to worry why Neil Young decided to return to Spotify. We can spend the time actually listening to his music! You can reap some of that Harvest, below.
