Oteil Burbridge has had a huge year this year thus far, and the Dead & Company bassist shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. During Dead & Company’s 2017 summer tour, Oteil stepped up to the mic—much to the delight of fans everywhere—to sing lead on three different Dead & Company tunes. Burbridge seems to be loving the magic Dead & Company is creating, as we saw him locked and loaded all summer, taking things to new heights with his fierce rhythm as summer tour progressed.
In an interview, the legendary bassist told us, “I guarantee you I will be playing this music for the rest of my life.” Today, Oteil turns 55, and we couldn’t be more excited to take the ride with him and see what he’s got in-store for us in the years to come. To honor this special day, we invite you to relive the magic that happens when you let Oteil sing. Check out these videos of each of his lead vocal song debuts from Dead & Company’s 2017 summer tour below.
