In April, Asheville, NC-based progressive-rock and space-synth outfit Papadosio will head out on a run of tour dates in support of their most recent album, 2018’s Content Coma. That 13-date jaunt will culminate in a blowout at Morrison, CO’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre alongside co-headliner The Polish Ambassador and his Wildlight project featuring vocalist Ayla Nereo. Papadosio and The Polish Ambassador will be joined for their Red Rocks bash by west coast psychedelic bass music luminary Random Rab and his Penumbra Live Band.

Papadosio had a busy year in 2018, and will continue their momentum with another big year ahead of them. In September, the band released a brand new album, Content Coma, their first studio release since 2016’s Pattern Integrities. The quintet went into the studio with over 30 ideas for what the album would be centered around, using Splice as an online collaborative platform to steer the direction of the album. For the first time ever, Papadosio entered a professional recording studio to produce the album and lay down the drums, piano, and bass.

As stated by Papadosio prior to Content Coma‘s release,

We have self-recorded and produced all of our releases in order to make the final product as unique and personal as possible. By recording the raw drum tracks in a professional setting, it really opened up the sonic range of what we had to work with while mixing. With each album, our sound progresses and we think this album is a generous step forward in our songwriting, our production techniques, and our sonic palette.

Papadosio has mounted plenty of memorable performances at Red Rocks. In 2018, they joined Umphrey’s McGee on the Rocks over Independence Day weekend. In 2017, Papadosio came to the Red Rocks stage as night fell on the amphitheater for a special Re:creation Red Rocks performance. The screen behind the band displayed psychedelic and trippy visuals from Johnathan Singer based off 16 works handpicked by visionary artists Alex and Allyson Grey. The Polish Ambassador (real name David Sugalski) is also keeping plenty busy this year. His EP 7 with Nitty Scott was released earlier this year, preceded by two full-length album releases in 2018 with Land of The Lush and Twilight Safari. On Friday, March 22nd, he released a brand new single, “Echos”, which you can hear below:

In addition to his recent work under the Polish Ambassador moniker, Wildlight is working on a brand new EP, which they’ll preview at their Red Rocks performance. As Sugalski tells Live For Live Music, “Red Rocks is my favorite place to play in the known universe, so we always try to keep it special each year. There will be new Polish tracks, new Wildlight tracks, special featured performers and an otherworldly production 🙂 Expect the unexpected.”
