Straight out of Nashville, Tennesee, LUTHI is an eclectic nine-piece band fronted by vocalist Christian Luthi. The group has been rising the ranks of the music scene recently, securing a spot at this year’s beloved Hulaween and increasingly gaining a legion of dedicated fans with their genre-bending sound that’s been described as “Boogie Circus” and “Cumberland Funk.” With an emphasis on eschewing modern conceptions of how music is “supposed to be”—though LUTHI’s nine members do all unanimously agree that their musical focus is “keeping it weird”—the band draws on a broad range of influences spanning times and genre, ranging from 1960’s soul and R&B, 1970’s psychedelia and funk, and 1980’s New Wave rock and roll. From these diverse inspirations, LUTHI creates a glorious new form of modern dance music that leaves listeners rabid for more.

Today, LUTHI has released a brand new live video that showcases why the group is increasingly becoming renowned for their powerful live shows, highlighting the band’s unreal vocals laid out by Luthi and Amber Woodhouse, hypnotizing stage presence, and contagious, fun energy. This new video, which was recorded at a sold-out performance at The Basement East in Nashville, Tennesee on July 28th, 2017, sees the group perform its live staple “Home Again” before using a thoughtful jam-focused transition to segue into fan-favorite “Kerouac.”

As Christian Luthi says of the live video snippet, “‘Home Again’ is a track that bleeds of an artistic journey. Seven years, twenty years, fifty years—no amount of time can define a real vision. As the song leads into ‘Kerouac,’ you can hear optimism overshadowed by pure loneliness. The two weave smoothly together and vividly explain the ups and downs of chasing the dream of art and love.”

Live For Live Music is proud to premiere the pro-shot video of LUTHI’s performance of “Home Again” and “Kerouac” at The Basement East in Nashville, Tennessee below.
