Last Friday, January 15th, The Travelin’ McCoury’s made their way to Bloomington, IL for a folk throwdown at The Castle Theatre. Led by Del McCoury’s sons, Ronnie McCoury and Rob McCoury, the tight-knit unit got to work with some tub-thumpin’ jams and never stopped rocking. With fiddler Jason Carter and bassist Alan Bartram in the fold, the group has a flare for the bluegrass but a penchant for adventure, blending rock and folk elements into their twangy sound. The result was downright electrifying, and with The Henhouse Prowlers opening, there was some magic in the air!
