On Friday night, two of the funkiest outfits in the game–Turkuaz and The New Mastersounds–brought their extensive fall tour to New York City’s Terminal 5 for a fantastic Friday night dance party. The New Mastersounds started off the night with a bang before Turkuaz brought their best stuff, including favorites like “Digitonium”, “Bubba Slide” and “Tiptoe Through The Crypto” and a mind-blowing “Drums” segment by drummer Michelangelo Carubba and Snarky Puppy percussionist Nate Werth, who has joined Turkuaz for the extent of this tour. The band was excited to make their NYC homecoming, with frontman Dave Brandwein mentioning their gratitude for the hometown crowd on several occasions.

After each band brought their best stuff for their back-to-back sets, The New Mastersounds joined Turkuaz onstage for a two-song collaborative encore of “The Rules” and “On The Border” that saw virtually everyone onstage take a turn to show off their chops.
