Now that calendars have flipped to May, music fans’ thoughts have shifted toward the coming summer festival season. As always, Summer Camp Music Festival will take place in Chillicothe, IL over Memorial Day weekend, May 24th–26th (with a pre-party on May 23rd), to help kick off our favorite time of year.
In addition to three days of performances from both host bands in moe. and Umphrey’s McGee, this year’s Summer Camp will feature sets from a diverse selection of top-tier rock, jam, funk, electronic, reggae, and hip-hop acts, including Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Big Gigantic, STS9, Zeds Dead, Rebelution, Chromeo (Live), Oteil & Friends, Gramatik, Flux Pavilion, Lotus, Trampled By Turtles, Blues Traveler, Toots and The Maytals, and a rare reunion of Black Star, the lauded duo comprised of Yasin Bey (a.k.a Mos Def) and Talib Kweli, among many others.
In addition to the natural beauty of the festival’s surroundings and the breathtaking nightly sunsets visible from the main stages, Summer Camp’s late-night shows in the fabled Red Barn have become a highly-anticipated tradition once the sun goes down. This year’s Red Barn late-night lineups are stacked with talent, with Umphrey’s and Here Come The Mummies scheduled on Thursday, May 23rd; moe. and Pigeons Playing Ping Pong on Friday, May 24th; Chromeo (DJ Set) and Lotus on Saturday, May 25th; and Papadosio and Manic Science (Manic Focus + Break Science) on Sunday, May 26th. Due to the Red Barn’s limited capacity, these exciting late-nights are separately ticketed. Grab your tickets when the go on sale this Thursday, May 9th at 12 p.m. CT to make sure you get in the door!
