Asheville based rockers The Broadcast have been turning heads left and right with their infectious live sound, but perhaps the most influential of those listeners was producer Jim Scott (Tedeschi Trucks Band, Wilco, Grace Potter, Tom Petty, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers). Scott flew the band out to his studio in the California desert to record what would become their full-length sophomore album, From The Horizon. Due out on June 17th, (pre-orders available here) The Broadcast hasn’t looked back since!

The five-piece ensemble is fronted by acclaimed singer Caitlin Krisko, whose rich voice is steeped in the spirits of Americana music. Graduating from the Professional Performing Arts School in NYC, Krisko put together a top tier band and moved down to Asheville, NC in 2010. With guitarist Aaron Austin and Krisko working together on all-original music, there’s a beautiful soul that rings loud and true in this band’s sound.

The Broadcast was recently featured on the beloved Echo Sessions, hosted by the IAmAVL group which highlights the burgeoning music and arts scene in Asheville. We’re beyond excited to share the band’s second video from those sessions, capturing their soulful tune “Eyes Of A Woman.” Check it out below!

Krisko shares her inspiration for the song itself, saying, “‘Eyes Of A Woman’ was one of the first songs we wrote for From The Horizon and also the first song our producer, Jim Scott, green lit when we were sending our demos back and forth. When I was 13, my mom relocated me from a Midwest suburban town to New York City – it was a major shift and life change that felt important to capture in a song.”

Austin adds, “‘Eyes Of A Woman has a Zeppelin influenced vibe that really embodies our blend of Rock N Roll.” If this is their blend of rock n’ roll, we can’t wait to check out the new album! With a number of exciting shows set for the band’s summer tour and an album due out in just a few short weeks, on June 17th, things are only getting bigger and better for The Broadcast.
