You know you’re doing something right when Phish’s Page McConnell shows up during your set and sits in on your biggest hit. Or when a senator — specifically Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders — writes you a thank you. Those two things, in and of themselves, huge accomplishments that the Vermont-based jam quartet Twiddle has under their belts. Add to that, last summer, Twiddle hosted their inaugural hometown festival, Tumble Down, in Burlington, Vermont. The group is coming back strong for the second-annual installment of the festival on July 28th and 29th at Waterfront Park. This year’s edition of Tumble Down boasts a burly lineup featuring two days of headlining sets from the hosts, along with Fruition, Midnight North, Holly Bowling, Madaila, Aqueous, Lucid, and more. With the natural surroundings of Lake Champlain steps away and the mountains in view, it doesn’t get much better than that this summer.

Outside of Tumble Down’s daily lineup, there is plenty of late-night action to keep the dance party going. Friday night will feature sets from Everyone Orchestra at Higher GroundMatt Butler will conduct a lineup of members of Twiddle, Fruition, and Midnight North, with special guest Holly Bowling — while both Gang of Thieves and Backup Planet will perform Nectars. Saturday night will see a special set from Mihali & Frends at Higher Ground, and Nectars will host lespecial with The Jauntee.

As is custom, the charitable aspects of Tumble Down and Twiddle will be ever-present, as The White Light Foundation will be holding charity raffles throughout the weekend. If disc golf is your thing, sign up for the Wampahoofus Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 29th (more details on that to come). There will also be Yoga with Taraleigh and a Phanart Exhibition at Club Metronome on Saturday, July 29th, from 11 am to 4 pm. In other words, there is a lot to do up in Burlington during Tumble Down. As Twiddle’s keyboardist Ryan Dempsey explained, “We wanted to do something big in Burlington because we consider it our home. The city has so much to offer in terms of music, awesome outdoor activities, and the nightlife downtown. We hoped that Tumble Down could reflect the dynamic nature of this amazing small city on Lake Champlain.”

Two-day and single-day passes for Tumble Down are currently on-sale and can be purchased here. For event updates and additional information, join the Facebook Event page. Plus don’t forget to check out a recap of last year’s festivities to get a taste of what’s to come this July.
