One of the most fun parts of Suwannee Hulaween is the annual set of themed covers that The String Cheese Incident plays for the event. Last year’s Ghoul Train set has taken a well earned place in the annals of Cheese history, so this year’s 80’s themed set had a lot to live up to. With the immensely popular, Reagan-era based Stranger Things series on the top of Netflix queues, it was a no-brainer for Cheese to adopt it and perform a stellar set of tunes under the “Stringier Things” banner.

Enlisting the horn section of the afrobeat world music band Antibalas as well as guest vocalists Rhonda Thomas and Tony White, The String Cheese Incident showed off the incredible versatility for which they are revered. Equally at home playing the driving punk of The Clash as they were with the brassy flourishes of The Eurythmics classic “Would I Lie To You”, the band put on a delightful set that everyone enjoyed.

Our own Rex Thomson braved confetti canons, pillars of fire, giant Rubik’s Cubes and yes…the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man to capture the first three songs of the amazing set for us all to enjoy!  Check out the incredible fun below!
