An argument can be made that without the music of James Brown and Sly and The Family Stone, the world of FUNK and HIPHOP would not be where it is at today, if it existed at all. It is only fitting to bring these two incredible and influential catalogs together for two epic summer throwdowns! With the highly acclaimed and celebrated James Brown tribute, “The James Brown Dance Party” and the newly formed tribute to Sly and The Family Stone, “A Family Affair” these (indoor and air conditioned) parties are destined to be the perfect way to stay cool this summer while dialing up the heat all at the same time. To make things even better, the NYC show at NuBlu will be featuring a special DJ set by DJ BOOMTOWN that will celebrate the music of Michael Jackson and Prince. What could be better than a night filled with James Brown, Sly and The Family Stone, Prince and Michael Jackson?!
