Michal Menert was one of the busiest men is show business in 2017. In addition to working on new material with his own seven-piece project—Michal Menert and the Pretty Fantastics—he’s collaborated with Grateful Dead percussionist Mickey Hart both on Dead & Company tour and for Hart’s latest release, RAMU. Menert has also made appearances with his friend and former bandmate Derek Vincent Smith of Pretty Lights at The Gorge and has also headlined a number of his own shows. This weekend alone, he’s slated to play a headlining performance with the Pretty Fantastics at Denver’s Fillmore Auditorium as well as Tucson’s beloved Gem & Jam Festival.

EXCLUSIVE: Michal Menert On Life, Mickey Hart, & The Pretty Fantastics

Today, Menert has dropped another one of classic electro-funk tracks, “See You Again”. Characteristically smooth and funky with laid-back vocals and mellow horn accents, the tune is by all definitions blissful.

Menert had this to say about the new tune:

The process for this song and the upcoming album has been rooted in working as a group out at my house in Northern California. We started in August, with a two week writing and tracking session with myself, Nick Gerlach, and Matt van den Heuvel, then JuBee a week in to help steer the vocals with me. I spent the time between now and then refining the existing material tracking the rest of the band and writing lyrics. For the last week I’ve had a couple members here to help finish some more material for our Fillmore show.
