To welcome in 2019, the Brooklyn-based technicolor funk gurus of Turkuaz will take over Worcester, Massachusetts’ recently renovated music venue, The Palladium, for their annual New Year’s Eve celebration, The Ball Drop. Returning to the landmark Worcester venue for the first time since the group’s 2015 NYE performance with Dopapod and Kung Fu, 2018’s Ball Drop will find Turkuaz supported by brass-house trio Too Many Zooz and gritty rock-crossover duo Paris Monster.

Turkuaz has had an impressive 2018 and shows no signs of slowing down in the new year. The fan-favorite nine-piece released a brand-new album in the fall, Life In The City, marking the group’s fifth studio album to date. In addition to the nine-song album, which was produced by Talking Heads’ Jerry Harrison, the band also recorded its first-ever live concert film during a standout performance at Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania’s Sherman Theater at the beginning of September. With these milestones under their belt in addition to completing an extensive fall and winter tour, Turkuaz’s upcoming New Year’s Eve bash is looking to be nothing short of spectacular.
