When the calendar flips to 2025, beloved Denver, CO venue Cervantes’ will waste no time beginning to celebrate its 22nd anniversary. With concerts by Trouble No MoreHot Buttered RumElijah Fox TrioTAUKSages & Spirits, and more—not to mention Live For Live Music’s two-day 2025 edition of Denver Comes Alive—scheduled on the venue’s two stages (Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom and the Other Side) in January, the vibrant Denver music scene has an easy New Year’s resolution within reach: Spend more time at Cervs.

Friday, January 3rd & Saturday, January 4th

Just three days into the new year, Cervantes’ will host a two-night, dual-venue event headlined by new-generation Allman Brothers Band tribute act Trouble No More featuring Brandon “Taz” Niederauer (guitar, vocals), Dylan Niederauer (bass), Jack Ryan (drums), Lamar Williams Jr. (vocals), Nikki Glaspie (drums), Peter Levin (keys), and Quinn Sullivan (guitar). Trouble No More will bring its high-energy interpretations of the ABB canon to the Ballroom with support from hybrid Grateful Dead/Steely Dan tribute Steely Dead.

At the same time, Virginia-based jam quintet Kendall Street Company will lead the way on the Other Side with support from Eddie Roberts & The Lucky Strokes (on 1/3) and Joslyn & The Sweet Compression (on 1/4). Hot Buttered Rum w/ Universal Sound (Tribute to Tyler Childers)

On Friday, January 10th forward-thinking Bay Area bluegrass quintet Hot Buttered Rum will host a pickin’ party at Cervantes’ Other Side. Before Hot Buttered Rum hits the stage, fans will get the chance to sing along to their favorite Tyler Childers tunes with Childers tribute act Universal Sound. Get tickets here.


Saturday, January 11th
Elijah Fox Trio w/ Gilley Live Band

On Saturday, January 11th, Durham, NC-native, Los Angeles, CA-based L.A. pianist, producer, and songwriter Elijah Fox will bring his unique brand of jazz impressionism to Cervantes’ Other Side with his namesake trio featuring drummer Myles Martin and bassist Solo Smith. Thursday, January 16th
TAUK w/ Giant Walking Robots

Instrumental prog-jam outfit TAUK will kick off its extensive early-2025 tour on Thursday, January 16th with a headlining blowout at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. The foursome of sonic explorers—guitarist Matt Jalbert, keyboardist Alric “A.C.” Carter, bassist Charlie Dolan, and drummer Isaac Teel—will be joined for their tour opener in Denver by Giant Walking Robots, the local group known for its blend of reggae, dub, rock, and electronic elements. Presented by Live For Live Music, the 2025 edition of mix-and-match music marathon Denver Comes Alive will include two nights of music at both Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom and the Other Side. Featuring two stages for the first time, Denver Comes Alive 2025 will present performances by 30+ well-known musicians from The Meters, The String Cheese Incident, Dumpstaphunk, Soulive, Wilco, Lettuce, Galactic, The New Mastersounds, Circles Around The Sun, Big Gigantic, The Motet, and more performing unique collaborative sets, rare all-star tributes, and more. Attendees will be able to move freely between the Ballroom and the Other Side throughout both nights.

The two-night event’s lineup includes a number of fan-favorite Fest by Nite projects including all-star NOLA tributes Poppa Funk & The Night Tripper: A Celebration of The Meters & Dr. John and Crescent City Classics, dual-organ showdown Worship My Organ, and the potent avant-garde explorations of Skerik (Les Claypool), Stanton Moore (Galactic), Wil Blades, and Nels Cline (Wilco). Other highlights from the lineup include Ross James & Goo Bros featuring Bill Nershi (The String Cheese Incident), Jeremy Salken (Big Gigantic), Adam MacDougall (Circles Around The Sun), and Garrett Sayers (The Motet); WRD featuring Robert Walter (The Greyboy Allstars), Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), and Adam Deitch (Lettuce); Joey Porter’s Vital Organ featuring Joey Porter (The Motet), Matt Jalbert (TAUK), and Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation); and more.

On Thursday, January 23rd (tickets) and Friday, January 24th (tickets), Denver music fans will get to enjoy a rare two-night run by Grateful Dead-adjacent all-star outfit Sages & Spirits featuring Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), Jay Lane (Dead & Company, Wolf Bros), John Kadlecik (Furthur, JGB), Rob Barraco (Dark Star Orchestra, The Dead), Rob Eaton (Dark Star Orchestra), Skip Vangelas (Dark Star Orchestra), Jake Wolf (Rocky Mountain Grateful Dead Revue) at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom. Following the late-2024 passing of Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, the Sages & Spirits run at Cervantes’ is sure to carry notable emotional weight as these veteran players interpret the Dead’s iconic songbook.
