Progressive electronica act Papadosio recently released their fifth full-length album, Content Coma, on September 7th, giving fans a full dose of 12 new tracks just in time for their newly announced tour. Currently out on the road in support of the release, the group will come to Columbus, OH’s Newport Music Hall for a Thanksgiving homecoming performance on Friday, November 23rd, with support from Chicago-based up and comers Mungion (purchase tickets here).

Originally out of Athens, OH, and now based in Asheville, NC, to say Papadosio keeps themselves busy would be a severe understatement. While constantly touring, the five-piece is somehow still able to compose and release original music on a regular basis, focusing on progression and developing an ever-expanding sonic palette. With regards to Content Coma, guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist Sam Brouse explains, “This album is an exploration of our emotions and sentiments while navigating this content coma we all find ourselves in.”

Papadosio Content Coma:

Also coming off their own new release with Ferris Wheel’s Day Off, the Mungion quartet of Justin Reckamp (guitar/vocals), Joe Re (keyboards/vocals), Sean Carolan (bass/vocals), and Matt Kellen (drums/vocals) prove to be constantly enjoying their own evolution of sound. Joined by a rotating cast of musicians, including a full horn section, Ferris Wheel’s Day Off features funky, heavy, and jam-friendly diverse tracks, with three clocking in over the 10-minute mark.

The album was produced by the band’s good friend, Ben Factor, and showcases the group’s stellar sense of humor and explosive improvisations. Also on the road for much of the Fall with acts such as The Motet and Aqueous, Mungion will join Papadosio for this Midwest holiday party at Newport Music Hall, for what is sure to be an epic celebration.
