On Saturday night, The Allman Betts Band wrapped their three-show run of Allman Family Revival celebrations with a star-studded performance at the Beacon Theatre, a venue the Allman Brothers Band played 238 times throughout their illustrious career. Guests at the Beacon Theatre blowout included Eric Krasno, Robert Randolph, Jimmy Hall, Todd Park Mohr, Robin Zander, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, Lilly Hiatt, J.D. Simo, Alex Orbison, Asher Belsky, and more.
The core Allman Betts Band featuring ABB blood relatives Devon Allman, Duane Betts, Berry Oakley Jr. and more kicked off the performance with a trio of songs from their debut LP, 2019’s Down To The River, followed by a pair of Allman Brothers favorites in “Ain’t Wastin Time No More” and “Blue Sky”.
The band then began to welcome a parade of special guests for a spirited mix of Allman Brothers material, blues staples, and classic covers over the course of two stellar sets. The “family” band finally closed out the night by bringing all their guests from throughout the evening onstage for a celebratory rendition of “Midnight Rider”.
