Brandon “Taz” Niederauer is halfway through his first year of high school, and he’s dedicating every bit of free time to his music. Whether on the road with his new band or in the studio laying down tracks, the fourteen-year-old guitar prodigy is blossoming into a musician of many traits.

On Wednesday night, Taz and his band–featuring Elise Testone on vocals, Matt Godfrey on guitar, Mark Rechler on keys, Matthew Fox on bass, Kendall Everett on drums, and Colin Logatto on sax–made their headlining debut at the Brooklyn Bowl in New York, sharing the bill with psych-pop juggernaut Madaila. Taz’s set featured 75 minutes of impressive originals and choice covers, highlighting a mature young man with outrageous talent spilling out of every sound. Featuring four original tunes in a set that included covers of the Grateful Dead, The Meters, and more, it’s obvious that this kid is going places.

Back in November, Brandon played a gig at Daryl’s House Club in Pawling, NY that featured one of his newest songs, “I Can’t Live”. Below, you can check out a pro-shot video of the new song, composed, arranged and written by Brandon Niederauer himself.
