As artists across the United States and the world at large grapple with the effects of COVID-19, many have turned to live streams. However, streaming from one’s home or studio presents its own set of problems, as Brazilian band Aglomerou found out on Sunday when their outdoor live-streamed concert was interrupted by a police raid and resulting shootout at the house next door.

In a video that’s been shared around the world, the five-piece group is seen performing peacefully in a backyard. During a cover of “Compasso do Amor” by Grupo Revelação, something is amiss in the background when men can be seen coming out of the neighboring mansion with their hands up. What may seem like a background gag quickly escalates when armed police officers enter the band’s live stream and force them to stop playing. Soon gunshots can be heard emanating from the house next door as the band members quickly run for cover and a helicopter is heard overhead.

Watch the footage of the Aglomerou live stream that was interrupted by a police shootout below.

According to the Brazilian news outlet G1, the shootout, which took place in the Ribeira district of Rio De Janerio, was related to an investigation by the Homicide Police Department of Baixada Fluminese. Law enforcement had reason to believe that “criminals on the run from justice” were in attendance at a house party occurring at the mansion next door to the Aglomerou concert. Some attendants of the party are shown being taken into police custody, and others were fined for breaking sanitary measures.

Aglomerou vocalist João Victor would later inform fans that they made it out of the situation unharmed, but that they would resume the live stream at a later date “because we’re kind of out of the mood to do it.”
