Spafford continued their three-night run in Colorado with a stop at The Aggie in Fort Collins on Friday night. The Arizona-bred four-piece continues to gain momentum as they test the waters in new markets, delivering their signature grooves and extended jams to packed houses across the U.S.. Friday night’s show was yet another testament to their growing success, as the two-set performance was highlighted by the band’s tight improvisation, unique tributes, and undeniable collective energy.

With most of the band’s songs pushing the limits between 10 and 15 minute jams, even their covers felt like originals. Sandwiched between their original tunes in the first set, Spafford delivered a heartfelt cover of “You Don’t Know How It Feels” by the late great Tom Petty. Toward the end of the second set, Greensky Bluegrass guitarist Dave Bruzza joined the band for bluegrass-tinged, knee-slapping version of the Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Soul To Squeeze”.
