Organizers behind the WinterWonderGrass festival series have revealed the dates and artist lineup info for their RiverWonderGrass Expedition series scheduled for next summer. Each multi-day expedition as part of WinterWonderGrass’ concert-meets-adventure series will be four days total, with the exception of the two Yampa, trips which are five days in length.

The first trek as part Colorado-based adventure series will begin June 12th-16th at the Dinosaur National Monument on the Yampa River with Daniel Rodriguez, Tyler Grant, and special guests still to be announced. The series will continue throughout the summer months with trips featuring Mishka (June 17th-21st); Lech and Lorenzo from California Honeydrops (June 23rd-26th); Pickin on the Dead (July 2nd-5th); Pixie & the Partygrass Boys (July 8th-11th), Lindsay Lou, Tyler Grant and Special Guests (July 18th-21st); a ladies-only WinterWonderWomen ft. Bridget Law and Lindsay Lou (July 23rd-26th); Trout Steak Revival (August 20th-23rd); the WinterWonderGrass All-Stars (August 27th-30th); and closing with Buffalo Commons (September 9th-12th).

According to the announcement, the RiverWonderGrass Expedition series will bring together friends and artists of the WinterWonderGrass community through Colorado’s pristine white waters and deserted beach campsites, as soundtracked by the sweet sounds of intimate bluegrass music. Each trip will be limited to 20 people to account for the musicians and the support staff. Ticket fees will cover three daily meals, along with adventure equipment, guides, music, and real-time experiences.

“From the moment I embarked on the 21-day Stand Up Paddle Grand Canyon Expedition, I knew I needed to find a way to share this magic,” festival founder Scotty Stoughton added with the 2021 lineup announcement. “The power of an overnight river trip to heal you emotionally, challenge you physically, and nurture you spiritually has become my medicine, and I wanted to share!”

Upon the emergence of COVID-19 earlier this year, WinterWonderGrass California was rescheduled to April 9th-11th, 2021 (with the same lineup intact) in accordance with the California governor’s office. Festival organizers also launched their WWG TV three-part webcast series back in March after WinterWonderGrass Tahoe was also forced to cancel due to public health concerns.
