Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss and Jeff Austin Band’sown Jeff Austin reunited under their 30db banner for an acoustic performance at Shoe Fest Music Festival in Manteno, Illinois earlier this year. The two popular musicians within the jam and folk scenes have made a rare tradition of coming together for unplugged sets since beginning to occasionally reunite over the past few years starting back in 2015. Their performance at the end-of-summer festival was, of course, one of the highlights of the event. Now, a portion of their duet acoustic set is available for fans to sit back and enjoy with the new professionally-filmed video shared by Instrumental Motion earlier this week.

The new video includes four songs from the duo’s full performance captured during the festival, which returned to Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See for its eighth year in 2018. The video’s setlist includes a mix of originals from their 2010 studio album, One Man Show, including “One More”, “One Man Show”, “Liar”, and “Backfire”, all of which make for a refreshing acoustic experience from a duo who are also known to fill their setlists with covers whenever they find time from their busy schedules to reunite these days.

The video opens up with the two diving right into the energizing “One More”, as Austin takes on the lyrics to their 2010 folk jam. “It’s really fun to come and get to still play this music and have people not only come out like this and check it out because you’re car’s stuck, but because you still sing it and know it,” the mandolin player can be heard saying to the audience following the video’s opening song.

The two continues into “One Man Show” starting at 6:21 mark and keeps the light set going right into “Liar”, a song which Bayliss is heard referring to as “a sing-along” before beginning the easy-going tune at 12:54 mark. The video goes on to conclude with their performance of “Backfire”, starting at the 18:59 mark.

The 30db appearance at Shoe Fest was also part of a rare but brief 30db fall tour back in September, which also included shows in New York and Boston. Jeff Austin will continue his own run of November performances later this week with his Cave Jam show with Larry Keel Experience and the Jon Stickley Trio at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee on November 30th.
