Aaron Frazer, the talented drummer and vocalist known for his work in Durand Jones & The Indications, has released his debut solo album.

Comprised of 12 soulful, R&B-inspired tracks, the album entitled Introducing… arrived this past Friday (1/8) via Dead Oceans/Easy Eye Sound. The warm-sounding solo debut from the talented drummer was co-written by Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), reportedly in the span of just four days.

Frazer told NPR of working with Auerbach on his debut solo effort, “I think Dan tried to get me to a place of accessing my intuitive songwriting because, like you said, Carole King, Curtis Mayfield, those are such finely crafted songs. Each one is like a watch, or something. We both love 45s, these singles that sound raw and from the gut. I think the idea of this record was to find a midpoint between something that feels good in the brain and something that feels good in the gut and in the ear.”

Auerbach had also played a major role in producing the debut solo album of guitarist Marcus King with 2020’s El Dorado.
