Metallica has announced the forthcoming publication of their first-ever children’s book. The 48-page illustrated book will be titled, The ABCs of Metallica, and is scheduled to arrive on November 25th via Permuted Platinum.
According to the announcement shared on the band’s website, the children’s book will be filled with “rhymes and illustrations,” while teaching the reader about the history of the famous thrash metal band The ABCs of Metallica looks back at the history of the band. ABCs of Metallica was co-written by Howie Abrams (The Merciless Book of Metal Lists), while Michael “Kaves” McLeer provided the colorful illustrations. The band made a point to note that they’d worked with McLeer in the past on their “Obey Your Master” exhibit in 2012.
“Each letter of the alphabet highlights a moment along our journey from Garage Days to Master of Puppets to fun facts about us,” the statement reads.
A portion of the proceeds from book sales will go to benefit the band’s own All Within My Hands Foundation.
Metallica is the only global rock and roll brand extending their creative ideas into the kid’s isle at the book store. Paul McCartney recently penned an illustrated children’s book titled, Hey Grandude!
