Action Bronson is back for season five of his food/travel/culture series, F*ck, That’s Delicious. While the first four seasons of the popular program were produced and distributed by VICE, Bronson has opted to make the show’s fifth season an independent endeavor.

Promising a “new chapter in the FTD saga,” the rapper/chef/writer/painter released Season 5, Episode 1 via his YouTube channel on Wednesday. In it, we see a transformed Bronson at the gym with his trainer, Dave Paladino, and get a peek into the workout routine that has helped him drop roughly 60 pounds in less than six months. As a gesture of gratitude, Action pulls a page out of Paladino’s mother’s cookbook and grills up a post-workout meal of Sicilian-style stuffed calamari in the gym parking lot.

Details on the independently-produced fifth season of the show are sparse, but going by what we see in the newly released episode, we can expect shorter installments going forward (Episode 1 clocks in at just under ten minutes in length). We’ve also yet to see Bronson’s FTD co-stars—Meyhem LaurenThe Alchemist, and Big Body Bes—although they will likely pop in as the season progresses.

The prevailing self-improvement themes of Season 5, Episode 1 also fit nicely with Bronson’s most recent endeavor, a self-help book/autobiography titled F*ck It, I’ll Start Tomorrow, due out on April 20th.

As the official description of the 184-page book explains, “F*ck It, I’ll Start Tomorrow is a brutally honest chronicle about struggles with weight, food addiction, and the journey to self-acceptance. In his signature voice, Action Bronson shares all that he’s learned in the past decade to help you help yourself. This isn’t a road map to attaining a so-called perfect body. Instead, Bronson will share his journey to find confidence, keep the negative vibes at bay, stay sane, chill out, and not look in the mirror hoping to see anyone but yourself. F*ck It, I’ll Start Tomorrow is not about losing weight—it’s about being and feeling excellent regardless of your size or shape. It’s about living f*cking healthy, period.”

With that in mind, we wouldn’t be surprised if FTD Season 5 continues to delve into Bronson’s recent physical and mental transformation. While health may prevail over decadence for this new chapter of the F*ck, That’s Delicious saga, fans of the show’s first four seasons shouldn’t fret: even with truncated runtime and apparent shift in intention, the first episode of Season 5 was still packed with the clever wit, eloquent wisdom, and outrageous banter that has made the show a runaway hit. And yes, even with all the working out and grilling squid, Action still manages to find time to rip some dabs before the season premiere closes out. If it ain’t broke…

When will Episode 2 come out? With no studio or broadcast platform attached, the answer remains, “whenever Action Bronson feels like sharing it.” We’ll be waiting. Until then, we can all be grateful that Episode 1 is free to watch on YouTube today. Dig in below.
