Lettuce drummer Adam Deitch, Dumpstaphunk guitarist Ari Teitel, and rising soul-jazz organist Sam Fribush (Hiss Golden Messenger), a.k.a. DTF, have shared the third and final single from their upcoming debut organ trio album, Another Side Of The Sound.

Entitled “Good Morning”, the funky new track is smooth and invigorating, like the day’s first cup of coffee. “Featuring wah-wah pedal organ, spacey guitar from Ari Teitel and a deep pocket from Adam Deitch, this feel-good track is perfect for getting your day started,” said Sam Fribush.

The song is set to appear on the trio’s debut LP, due out later this month on May 23rd, alongside previously released singles “Chester” and the band’s funkified version of the Allman Brothers Band‘s “Midnight Rider”.

With Another Side Of The Sound, DTF builds on the traditional organ trio format, blending Fribush’s studied, gospel-influenced approach with Deitch’s modern, hip-hop-tinged “future funk” beats and Teitel’s smooth guitar grooves. Recorded straight to tape without a click track at Colorado Sound Studios, the album sounds both timeless and modern, with a mix of original compositions and eclectic covers including the aforementioned ABB cover and Bel Biv DeVoe’s 1990 new jack swing anthem “Poison”.

“We’re three musicians who deeply respect classic funk, jazz, hip-hop, and R&B and wanted to make a record the old-school way. All of us in the same room cutting to tape,” said Teitel. “We all tap into our influences like Jimmy Smith, J Dilla, The Meters, and Tower of Power while playing with a modern edge, and wrote tunes that serve as vehicles for all our inspiration to shine.”
