Adult Swim Festival will head east for the first time this summer for a block party in Philadelphia. Set to take place at various venues in Philly’s burgeoning Fishtown neighborhood on August 5th, 6th, and 7th, 2022, the inaugural Adult Swim Festival Block Party will mark the multimedia music and comedy festival’s first-ever installment on the East Coast following two years in Los Angeles and two years as a virtual event.

Presented in partnership with Live Nation, the Adult Swim Festival Block Party will include a series of individually ticketed events at four venues in close proximity in Fishtown: The Fillmore PhiladelphiaThe Foundry, Punch Line Philly, and Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia. The party will also spill into the street outside the venues with beer gardens, food trucks, and other block party attractions running throughout the weekend.

Headliners for the three-day event include longtime Adult Swim affiliates Run The Jewels, rising Philly native Tierra Whack, and Dethklok, the fictional-turned-real band at the center of the cult classic Adult Swim animated series, Metalocalypse. In addition to live music, the festival will offer fans a diverse mix of comedy, live panels, outdoor screenings, and exclusive merchandise celebrating Adult Swim and its beloved cache of off-kilter programming. Attending fans will get sneak peeks and breaking news about some of Adult Swim’s biggest shows at must-see panels and series watch parties.

Cultural phenomenon Rick and Morty will mark the occasion with the exclusive debut of the series’ highly anticipated sixth season. Aqua Teen Hunger Force creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis will take the stage with their co-stars, Carey Means (Frylock) and Dana Snyder (Master Shake), to reveal a first look at the forthcoming second movie adaptation based on the fan-favorite series. Smiling Friends creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel will also bring joy to Philadelphia with the exclusive debut of new footage from a forthcoming special.

In honor of the event, the Adult Swim Mural Project has also revealed Philadelphia as its newest location for this summer. In partnership with Living Walls, the Adult Swim Mural Project is an ongoing initiative created to help spotlight local up-and-coming Black artists and creators to produce large-scale murals around the city. Now in its third year, the project extends from Atlanta and New Orleans to include Philadelphia, with more cities to follow.

Performances are individually ticketed and vary in pricing, with tickets to panel events available at no charge while supplies last. Pre-sale begins Thursday, May 19th at 10 a.m. EDT, general sale begins Friday, May 20 at 10 a.m. EDT. For full ticketing details, head here.
