AEG Present Rocky Mountains has announced a new venue, The Mission Ballroom, that is scheduled to open in the summer of 2019. The 60,000-square-foot event space will serve as the anchor of North Wynkoop, a 14-acre mixed-use development in Denver’s RiNo Arts District.

According to a new promotional video, The Mission Ballroom has been in the works for the past three years and construction is currently underway. In addition to state-of-the-art sound and lighting, the venue will feature a flexible stage, a wide-open dance floor, and risers reminiscent of the elevated standing areas at the Red Rocks Amphitheater.

“We blended the ballroom experience on the floor with a tiered-riser configuration similar to Red Rocks. Beyond offering incredible sight lines, this design creates the finest sonic experience that Colorado concertgoers expect and deserve,” AEG Present Rocky Mountains co-president Don Strasburg reportedly said in a statement.

The Mission Ballroom will have a capacity between 2,200 and 3,950. The flexible stage will allow the venue to easily change its layout depending on the anticipated size of the crowd, so the intimacy is never lost for the artists and the fans.

The North Wynkoop project will also feature extensive retail and office space, a boutique hotel, and market rate and affordable housing. It will be located on Brighton Boulevard between 40th and 43rd street.

The Mission Ballroom will mark the latest expansion for AEG Present Rocky Mountains, which already produces events at Red Rocks, The Ogden Theatre, the Bluebird Theater, the Gothic Theatre, Fiddler’s Green, and the Pepsi Center
