Alanis Morissette has shared a previously unreleased demo recording of “Predator”, a new original song that was composed for Jagged Little Pill: The Musical which opened on Broadway to critical acclaim in late 2019 prior to the COVID-19 shutdown of theatrical events in March 2020.

Released last week, the haunting new demo hears the popular alternative-rock singer and songwriter sing alongside a solo piano for the semi-polished recording (which does not shy away from utilizing a high level of reverb added onto her vocals).

Morissette celebrated Jagged Little Pill‘s 25th-anniversary in 2020 with a reissue of the hit 1995 album, while also releasing her ninth studio album, Such Pretty Forks in the Road, in late July.

Morissette was also scheduled to embark on a 2020 summer tour celebrating Jagged Little Pill alongside Garbage and Liz Phair, but those dates were scrapped in light of the pandemic.
