In anticipation of their forthcoming Bless Your Heart album, due out August 28th via BMG, The Allman Betts Band has released a music video for the LP’s latest single, “Pale Horse Rider”. The release of “Pale Horse Rider” follows “Magnolia Road“, a single the band shared on June 19th.

“Pale Horse Rider” captures the best of The Allman Betts Band’s Americana sound. After opening with a dream-like chord progression behind Duane Betts and Devon Allman‘s intertwined guitar lines, Allman’s powerful vocals take center stage. The two guitarists duel on the chorus, which features emotional wordless vocals from Allman. He then sings the second verse before a lengthy outro highlights their six-string abilities and the chemistry that has developed since their 2019 debut album, Down to the River.
The music video, directed by Devon Williams, captures the song’s emotion perfectly. Ominous, fireside strumming sets the tone from the beginning before breathtaking imagery of Joshua Tree National Park highlights expansive vocal reaches of the song’s chorus.
“I think we definitely challenged ourselves, pushed ourselves artistically, and widened the spectrum on all levels. We wanted something that was a little more sweeping. A deeper experience,” said Betts in a press release.
Allman added, “I hope what people hear on Bless Your Heart is a band that’s having a love affair with being a band.”
